‘Fossil Fuels’ and Scientism, from the 18th century to the modern era. Irrational dogma.
Russian versus Western ‘Disinformation’. Russia expands clean burning hydrocarbon energy production, while the ‘West’ destroys its energy infrastructure.
“The suggestion that petroleum might have arisen from some transformation of squashed fish or biological detritus is surely the silliest notion to have been entertained by substantial members of persons over an extended period of time.” Fred Hoyle, astronomer, 1982
18th century ignorance as gospel
The term fossil fuel purportedly dates from the 18th century, probably and rather ironically coined by the Russian Chemistry Professor Lomonosov around 1745. In 1757 Lomonosov presented at the Imperial Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg and included the following pithy description about oil: “Rock oil originates as tiny bodies of animals buried in the sediments which, under the influence of increased temperature and pressure acting during an unimaginably long period of time, transform into rock oil.” No experiments, observations or proofs were submitted by Lomonosov, but a religious cult was born.
For whatever reason, ‘fossils’ were ‘first’ being discovered in the 18th century tincturing the glasses of academics and seers and ushering in unproven theories about long ages and processes. Such discoveries could be interpreted differently depending on your worldview of course. In the long age paradigm of the ‘Enlightenment’ and the ‘Age of Science’, petroleum was described as an organic substance derived from decomposed tissue which must have been crushed and liquified over extended periods of time. None of this is valid nor has it ever been experimentally proven. Yet today the ‘Science’ references this rather ignorant and unenlightening world view of an 18th century philosophical theory about hydro-carbon energy, without recourse to observational or experimental proof. Why? And what does that say about ‘science’?
Peak Junk Science
Petroleum and gas from ‘fossils’ as a theoretical concept serve a modern purpose. If hydro-carbon energy is limited, or ‘non-renewable’ in the cant of education and the media, then eventually the despised human race will need to move to alternative energy sources, managed by vested interests who accrete money, power or both, from ‘renewable’ implementations.
(The fraudulent 1956 Hubbert Shell Oil Peak Oil fraud. Zero science, zero data validation, all of it long disproven, but still reused by the Peak Oil cult).
If, however, hydrocarbon fuel is manufactured and produced naturally, and will always be plentiful, the business and moral case for ‘alternative energy’ is drastically reduced. To compensate for this inconvenient truth, the Scientism of energy and social control now dramatically declare that burning naturally produced hydrocarbons is ‘dirty’ and a pollution. This is simply untrue. Your wood stove provides an excellent experimental laboratory as to why burning carbon has no impact whatsoever on ‘pollution’, ‘climate’ or Gaia. None. Carbon does not pollute and is not toxic.
The attack on energy reality thus comes from 3 angles of Scientism and its false 18th century inspired-religious dogma:
1-hydrocarbons are subject to the fraudulent ‘peak’ production theories and will run out, with all such forecasts proven ineradicably wrong;
2-burning hydrocarbons is dirty and polluting and;
3-burning hydrocarbons will emit Co2 which deranges the lower atmosphere’s climate and causes warming.
As a litany of religious gospel, the above does rank incredibly low on the critical thinking and reality scales. Evidence indicates that oil and gas reserves are limitless, now exceeding 40 years into the future with more reserves discovered annually. Carbon and Co2 are not toxins, they are amorphous and formless gases, and Co2 benefits the environment as plant food. Co2 is 4 parts per million in the atmosphere and is both endothermic and exothermic with cooling as well as warming properties. At least half of the 50 billion tonnes that humans emit each year globally will be recycled by nature. There are 1 Trillion tonnes of Co2 in the lower and upper atmosphere, so our impact is negligible and in reality, there are so many complex feedback loops within climate which we don’t understand, that it makes a mockery of the climate doom goblins and their fake models.
Russia and energy
Abiotic hydrocarbon energy production, as a natural process, occurring at the boundary of the Earth’s core and mantle was discovered by the Russians in the 1930s and 1940s. An impetus for the now demonised Russian state, was energy self-sufficiency and not having to rely on imports from foreign powers, especially during a war. In the 1930s Russian oil production was virtually non-existent. Today Russia is the third largest producer of energy in the world. Russia is an energy behemoth because Russian geologists look for oil where the West dares not.
Russian energy production has doubled from 5-6 million barrels per day in 2000, to 10-12 million barrels per day in 2023, in complete defiance of falsified ‘peak oil theories;’ which are found only in Western discourse. ‘Peak oil’ theory has existed since 1920 and every year there is yet more ‘forecasts’ that energy will peak and decline within the next decade. For 100 years, this has proven to be a lie. Online the researcher will find various ‘Western’ prognostications from ‘experts’, that Russian oil production will soon peak (pick a year) and then sharply decline, imperilling the Russian state. In reality Russian energy output has doubled in 20 years and there is no reason, bar a defeat in war, that it won’t double again in the next 20 years.
(Yearly global consumption is 97 million barrels per day, or 35.4 billion per year so 1,300 billion means ~40 years of supply)
Russian self interest
During World War II and immediately after, Russian geologists were tasked with finding petroleum. The Western method – incorrect and factually inane – was to search for ‘sedimentary rock’ which would act as ‘source rock’ which produces what Western ‘science’ believes is organically decomposed liquid. The Russians viewed oil quite correctly as abiotic and inorganic. Organic matter may indeed coalesce with hydrocarbon energy as it migrates through the Earth’s layers pushed by the radiant energy of the core and pulled by the centrifugal force of the Earth’s rotation and its exertion on the gravity of oil as a fluid. Decayed organisms and dinosaurs have nothing to do with the complex liquid of petroleum or with natural gas.
“..results demonstrate that methane (a product of natural gas) readily forms by the reaction of marble with iron-rich minerals and water under conditions typical in the Earth’s upper mantle….Our calculations show that methane is thermodynamically stable under conditions typical of Earth’s mantle, indicating that such reserves could potentially exist for millions of years.” (Laurence Fried, Livermore Chemistry Directorate, September 13th 2004).
In the past 80 years many thousands of papers, proofs, experiments, and observations confirming the abiotic nature of oil and gas manufacture have been rendered, mostly by the hated Russians. Because of this, few in the West will know anything about this theory and the enormous corpus of work supporting abiotic theory would simply be described as ‘Russian Disinformation’ by the ‘Enlightened’ who are religiously and financially indoctrinated to preach ‘Fossil Fuels’. One cannot question Scientism or ‘the Science’ especially if Orcish-Russian theories are being utilised.
Just by ‘coincidence’ the Eastern Ukraine has some 500 million barrels of proven oil reserves in the Dnieper-Donetsk region, with more than 50 wells extracting the black gold – all of them developed by Russian industry since the 1950s. 500 million barrels of reserves is equivalent to 50 days of current Russian oil production (10-12 million barrels per day).
Eastern Ukrainian oil reserves – originally rejected by Western geologists in the 1990s as not existing given they were looking in the wrong places -- would be important targets for not only Russia, but also the US empire and its military façade called ‘NATO’. This little factoid is conveniently forgotten in the mainstream narrative about the war in the Ukraine. Where is the ‘No War for Oil’ crowd and their protests? Or are we to believe that the quite vast reserves of energy sitting in the Ukraine is not a military and economic priority for the US and EU? Which Western firms would benefit from the development of Ukrainian oil? How many politicians and their corporate allies would be enriched?
Thomas Gold and ‘Black Gold’
Gold was a professor of astronomy at Cornell and died in 2004, after a life-time of jerking the chains of narrative-‘Science’ and calling a cat, a cat. In 1998, at the age of 78 he wrote ‘The Deep Hot Biosphere’, which to be honest is a difficult and technical read. Gold wandered off into geology to argue that the Russian theory of naturally occurring abiotic hydrocarbon production was factual and to be found both terrestrially here on Earth and extra-terrestrially – a fact which was reconfirmed by the 2008 Cassini mission to Titan a moon of Saturn, though Gold 10 years earlier had predicted the same.
“Carbon is found mostly in compounds with hydrogen – hydrocarbons – which, at different temperatures and pressures, may be gaseous, liquid or solid. Astronomical techniques have thus produced clear and indisputable evidence that hydrocarbons are major constituents of bodies great and small without our solar system (and beyond).” (Thomas Gold, Deep Hot Biosphere, p.44)
In 1986 Halley’s comet passed closed to Earth and astronomers had an opportunity to test Gold’s ideas. Several probes were sent and found that 80% of the comet’s nucleus was ice, some 15% was frozen CO, and the remainer frozen Co2, methane, and ammonia. These elements are all products of hydrocarbon with methane as the principal component of natural gas, another chemical that is being reclassified as toxic by the Climate cult. In any event Halley’s comet affirmed Gold’s thesis.
Gold also theorised that oil is found in the Middle East and not in Florida or Montana for example, for the simple reason that the Earth’s substructure is sufficiently fractured and cracked below the Middle East and less so underneath Florida. The broken substrata allow oil to flow to the surface impelled by gravity and the centrifugal force of the Earth’s rotation. This means that oil will migrate into sedimentary rock or ‘source rock’ in Western canonical Scientism, but this does not mean that oil is produced there.
Gold also analysed the curious cases of life near oceanic deep-sea vents. All life is carbon based. How do creatures survive near these vents at the bottom of the ocean? There is no sunlight, and supposedly no food. All carbon life forms must extract or inhale oxygen, imbibe hydrocarbon energy sources and exhale Co2 in the process of producing carbohydrates which are the by-products of ingested hydrocarbon energy. Gold surmised that deep living water organisms without access to light can transform hydrocarbons into energy. This is accomplished by ingesting their sustenance directly from the vents which issue hydrocarbons or oil. Many deep-sea explorations and data have confirmed just that.
In summary Gold completely demolishes the Western dogma about fossil fuels. So where is the ‘science’ from the Fossil Fuel cult, proving that dead dinosaurs and 400-million-year-old ‘Devonian algae’ produce hydrocarbon energy?
“Nobody has yet synthesised crude oil in the lab from a beaker of algae and ferns.” (Thomas Gold, Deep Hot Biosphere, p. 85).
Indeed. Not in 1998 and not in 2023. Yet another mantra and gospel of Scientism still looking for reality and proof.
The Bottom Line
Oil does not come from biogenic and decomposing tissues. How interesting and how sardonically ironic is it that Russian science long ago knew that oil and natural gas production arrives from abiotic and entirely natural processes, in harmony with Gaia, not toxic, and with no impact on climate.
The implication is simply that Russia will continue to develop into an energy colossus, while the West deludes and denudes itself with soporific and anti-science dogma, implementing anti-reality non-renewable, unreliable, catastrophically expensive, and extraordinarily Gaia unfriendly non-green energy systems. The entire platform for a modern economy and society is being reduced and smashed. The New World Order is not going to turn out the way the Masters of the Universe planned. One could quite easily forecast the demise of the NWO, as the West implodes and nations such as Russia, pursuing real science and reality, expand.
That is not a bad outcome.
