I shall read this post with interest. Having glanced at the initial paragraph, you may wish to note that Leiden (English and archaic Dutch spelling) is actually in the Netherlands, not Germany. Einstein did, however, give this 1920 lecture in the German language at that city's university. In my experience it is prudent to be diligent in one's research, especially if one prefers a polemical style of discourse. Seemingly trivial errors often may be taken as indicative of more substantial ones.

Have any attempts been made to measure the earth's motion from the troposphere? Interested layman asking - hope that's not a ridiculous question.

Thanks for your essays. I'm trying to understand as fast as I can, but it's sure not light speed!
