I've enjoyed finding and reading your Substack. I believe that the sun revolves around the earth because I believe it's the teaching of Scripture. So I have a question on rotation; if the earth is not rotating (spinning), how does this affect airplane flights? I'm thinking that they're basing their calculations on a supposedly spinning earth, spinning at a certain speed, and believing erroneously that this also provides the size of the earth?

Air travel, satellites, GPS' etc all based their calculations on the Sagnac effect, and the assumption of a non-moving Earth. The speed of light in the Earth’s atmosphere is either c + v or c – v due to the aether which rotates around the Earth, east to west, with the rest of the universe on a 23 hour, 56 minute and 4 second sidereal rate. GPS electromagnetic signals sent east-to-west travel at c + v; while those sent west-to- east travel at c – v. This difference in the speed of light is known as the Sagnac effect. This is what navigation equipment will use (not Relativity, and not a moving Earth).

Thank you! Amazing to think about.

Yes pilots fly point to point in actual fact :) Wind speed needs to be taken into account. https://byjus.com/question-answer/an-aeroplane-has-to-go-from-a-point-a-to-another-point-b-500-km/

This is great, thanks. But I am still a bit confused. Leaving aside the earth's supposed orbit of the sun, does the earth rotate every 24 hours or not? Is there any good evidence that the earth is actually rotating. If the earth is not rotating then we must believe that the heavens rotate about the earth and the further away a star or planet is, the faster it must be moving. Is that correct? I just read the wiki on Tycho and it seems to suggest that Tycho did not think the earth was rotating. What is your view based on the available evidence?

The Earth might well rotate. Gyroscopes however, can be used as proof it is not https://unstabbinated.substack.com/p/gyroscopes-disprove-the-rotation?utm_source=publication-search This is ignored by the science. Will post some ideas on this, the standard measurement for rotation is the VLBI (light interferometer measurement again), but it is tautological in its calculations. It is a good question, but the ‘evidence’ is not as obvious as we are told, and there is evidence against rotation using satellite data.

Thanks for this.. I was forgetting the north pole gyroscope post you did a while back. So the situation is that we assume that the earth is rotating but we cannot prove it. If the earth is not rotating then the cosmos must be revolving around it. That seems improbable to me but that is only speculation. What about the rotation of other planets? I believe we can actually see Jupiter rotating. Is even that true. My feeling at this stage is that planets do rotate and we are probably rotating.? We can see Jupiter's moons rotating about it as well, I believe. I am not so sure we orbiting the sun. Do you think the transit of Venus across the face of the sun is proof that Venus is orbiting the sun? Perhaps a list of solar system dispositions that we do definitively know as fact might be a big help. Do we really even know the distance to the moon? Do we actually know anything for sure?

All good questions, and hard to answer. The 'proof' for heliocentricity is very tenuous to non-existent. No mechanical evidence exists for orbits around the Sun. Jupiter for eg does not orbit the Sun. WMAP, JWT etc highlight that the Earth is near the barycentre of the observable universe. Cosmological rotation around the Earth is just as scientifically provable as modeling the Earth around the Sun; the Sun around the Milky Way; the Milky way aound the centre of the universe, all galaxies expanding...all at phenomenal speeds. Not much difference.

On rotation the evidence is also very thin. There is no explanation as to why or how a planet can 'rotate' forever (or 4 billion years etc). What mechanism impels the rotation? Why is it uniform and how does it last so long? Are there are forces which act on the Earth to force rotation (Euler, Coriolis)? What causes these forces and why again are they uniform? If the Earth does rotate why do gyroscopes work, they shouldn't work, or at the least they should follow the rotation of the Earth. Why do GPS' use non-rotating calculations in their software? etc etc.
